Got HUD?

Here we go... six Sims participating in our hunt and the place where to purchase the HUD for the hunt! Each Sim will have multiple gifts hiding about and each tale you uncover will guide you to the next!

Impaled Sleepy Hollow Sim

Many places have their stories and legends of things going bump in the night or may have their share of "unwanted guests".  One small isolated town in upstate New York stands out in both rich history and dark legend.  The haunted town of Sleepy Hollow found in legends and lore, rests near the eastern side of the Hudson River... a marshy section of the river.  Approximately 9,000 individuals call this area “home”. Of course, this is the number of physical, living individuals...

Sleepy Hollow was settled in 1640. The Dutch settlers elected the name “Slapershaven”.  It eventually was called "Sleepy Hollow".  While the town is considered a fictional piace to many, it is important to understand that Sleepy Hollow is in fact, an actual town... full of haunting tales, dark legend and famous people that played a part of it's rich history. Several dark and chilling cemeteries exist here as well as a historical battlefield from the revolutionary war.  the following is just a taste of what Sleepy Hollow's history presents itself:

SLEEPY HOLLOW CEMETERY - Residents and visitors have witnessed an eerie mist, lights dancing on the graves and unexplained voices coming from all directions in the various sections of the Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.  Several famous people are buried here, including Washington Irving, Andrew Carnegie, Leona Helmsley, William Rockefeller and several Revolutionary war Army and Militia officers.  Edgar Allan Poe resided a short distance from Sleepy Hollow cemetery during his last few years.  The film "House of Dark Shadows" were filmed at the Sleepy Hollow Cemetery as well as Lyndhurst Mansion (castle), also located in Sleepy Hollow:

PATRIOT'S PARK – If you go to a secluded area of Sleepy Hollow, you will discover Patriot's Park. During the American Revolutionary War, the Americans captured a soldier that was of Hessian decent. He was immediately executed by way of beheading. An apparition known as the "Headless Horseman" is said to linger throughout the park grounds to this very day. Washington Irving took this legend of the headless soldier for his infamous tale "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow".  But dont' be misled, the tale reaches much further than pen and parchment.
Nearby is "Sunnyside Estate", in which Irving purchased in 1835.  Originally a small ordinary cottage, Irving renovated it into a large estate.  It has been said to have an extraordinary amount of apparitions, including Irving and his nieces.

Blue Blood

History Books describe the Spanish Inquisition as a tribunal established in 1480 by the Church. According to history, the first "auto-da-fé" was held in Seville on February 6, 1481: six people were burned alive. The motives are not so clear...

Books will tell you, the victims to these "auto-da-fé" were people who refused to accept the Christian God. But the poor damned souls condemned to be burned or murdered in several other horrible ways were not what history made them appear to be. The reasons? what do you mean by that? The *Holy* Church wanted to conceal the existence of Paranormal Beings of course! They did not want humanity to believe such things could exist on Earth... vampires, demons, and many many more!... things the Church made people fear... and don't forget, the ability to inflict fear upon a vast group of people meant one thing and one thing only: Power.

If those things they feared were things they'd encounter in Hell, then off to Heaven people! do as the Church says!

But this year at the Blue Blood Island somethng seems different, should I say... "Wrong"? Yes! Wrong!

The Inquisition Gone Wrong!

To *Celebrate* Halloween this year, Victims have decided to step up and become "Inquisitors" in order to deliver a show you won't forget: a reenactment of The Great Spanish Inquisition... if the power balance would have tilted towards the Paranormal.

This year the witches, the vampires, the wolves, the walking dead, the demons... they are all out there, and no one is protecting you. Was there really ever anyone protecting you? doesn't really matter now, does it... just be amused, enjoy the show... and the treats! you should never attend an inquisition in a bad garment... you never know which Inquisition will be your last *grins*

You will find Ten garments hidden at Blue Blood Island. Where should you look for them? use your imagination while you think of this question: as a human... where would you hide?

and remember... they are out there

and vengeful.

Sassy!

A quiet night in Halloween Town.  It’s still a few weeks until Halloween and there’s already a hint of excitement in the cool breeze that blows through town.  From my room’s window, I can see the light in the huge tower is on.  I've seen the light on a lot of times before.  Jack Skellington lives there.  Could it be that the Pumpkin King doesn’t need to sleep?  He’s is planning something lately.  He seems to spend all of his time up there (adaption from Nightmare Before Christmas).

Village of Nyght

The Village of Nyght is a very mysterious place. It was founded in the 18th century by Ebenzer Tew.  Ebenezer came from a long line of antiquarians based in London. It was during a trip abroad that he first came into contact with knowledge of the Great Old Ones. Investigating further he became converted to their worship. As part of his conversion he married into the family of one of the cults he joined. Soon after his father died and the family estate burned to the ground. Ebenezer then emigrated to the United States and purchased land in an isolated valley near Arkham.

Soon after the land was purchased a large number of immigrants arrived and started to build a massive mansion, farming village and outlying farms. Tew named it the Village of Nyght as a hint to the hidden evil beneath.  Beneath the Mansion, the Village it was whispered lurked older ruins and below that a place lost to time. Only the cult and Tew family knew for sure and outsiders were not welcome.

Over time the Village prospered and the Tew family prospered along with it, or perhaps vice versa. Whispers traveled that the inhabitants were weird and inbred. Strangers had a habit of disappearing or having odd accidents if they became too close.  Despite the veneer of prosperity the constant worship of the some of the Great Old Ones twisted the Tew family's minds. Each generation delved deeper into mysteries best left alone. There was an insatiable desire for learning and collecting forbidden lore. Perhaps worse, the later generations worked to incorporate science with the forbidden, creating an unholy union of magic and technology.

If things had continued on the normal path the Village might become another degenerate backwater town. Unfortunately that did not quite happen. Instead something unknown and horrific happened. One night the entire population of the Village died and rose again. Not just those alive at the time but those long since dead. Some became ghosts but most returned as flesh hungry undead. The mystery of what happened has drawn investigators, cultists and the foolish to the Village to figure out what happened.

Howling Moon's Creations Labyrinth of Darkness

You hear a mysterious noise in the dark quiet outside your window. Alarmed, you stand up , set your book down, and listen further. "Hello?" , sensing the presence of another. "Is anybody there?" The light was dim; only a few of the sun's rays continued to pour into the living room window.
"Hello?" you repeat again, hearing no answer. A low breeze hummed over the house's edges and through the small spaces between the shingles. Someone is out there. You knew it. Cautiously, you aproach the front door and put your ear to it. "Hello?"
Taking a deep breath, you put your hand on the door handle and pull it open. Behind the sudden gust of chill air was a dark robed figure, standing solemnly before you. You gasp, startled, but the figure does not move.
"Who are you?" You demand. "What do you want?"
"There are Magic books held captive by the Goblins, who have recently wandered out of thier haunted forest into your village," the figure intoned. "They’ll need your help to free themselves from a fate worse than death. I have brought you a message to start your quest." The figure hands you a note, turns, and vanishes into the night.
"Wait! Wait!" you called after him, but the figure did not reappear. you turn your thoughts to the note. “Magic books in danger” you think, “I must start searching for them!”
You begins by looking where the bodies are prepared for the eternal sleep.
You then work up your nerve to go to the haunted house, maybe getting inside to have a look around. But beware the haunted ones who dwell there!

 Little Pricks

It was a cold chilly night as they drove along stealing glances and smiles...the last thing she remembered as they drove from the party was turning the station on the radio and him looking over at her smiling with such love and content...then suddenly a blinding light and the sound of the squealing tires searing pain then darkness...that night her life was forever changed...

She awoke scarred and stiff... it had been over a year since that chilly fall night October...he hadn't survived they told her.... were so very sorry... the words escaping the doctors lips in slow motion as her mind completely shut down.... she sobbed laying back closing her eyes...deciding she wasn't going to live without him.... that she couldn't.

The days passed and she went through the motions of daily life trying to make sense of why.... why was he taken...why was he no longer at her side.... her heart broken...loneliness consumed her every thought.... she wanted to be with him...on the other side wherever that is.... or wherever...she belonged to him always...and she had no desire for this life without him.

She visited the last place he was taken and removed from the earth...she had known his wish for cremation but why this place...The massive morgue looked so cold and imposing.the sounds as the water crashes against the coastline gave her chills as she stands on the bridge looking down.... knowing that the jump will take her life.... it doesn't matter she's ready.... ready to join him.  She climbs up on the dark weathered wood of the massive bridge her fingertips burning from the chilled air.... standing for a moment she feels the coldness embracing her...wrapping around her as her arms raise slowly out...she closes her eyes and leans forward.... the air rushes to meet her as she falls...

She died from the fall they say...I believe more it was from a broken heart...to love is to never want to be without.... a small gravestone marker is the only thing left as a reminder of her.... a girl who couldn't go on without love...story goes...if you visit on a cool crisp night in October you can see her on the bridge. And wandering the nearby grounds surrounding the Morgue that took her beloved...
